5 Awesome Weight Loss Blog Posts

If you're like me, you're always looking for inspiration and motivation--and when it's free, all the better. But I digress. I read a lot of blogs everyday. And many times I find posts that really stand out. Here are few that stood out for me:

1. John is Fit posted this list of free online fitness videos and workouts. Thank you John. You are awesome.
2. The Token Fat Girl recently posted about the power of oatmeal. Thanks for this post. I often forget that oatmeal is powerful and pretty darn tasty, too.
3. Holly shows us how good she looks with a hair cut. Makeovers make us feel great and look fabulous, too.
4. Roni's Weigh gets her cookbook published. How awesome is she?
5. Weight Loss Blogger helps us find motivation to exercise.

Thanks to everyone who writes a weight loss blog. You don't just keep me motivated. You keep me thinking.

13 Weight Loss Blogs for Motivation and Inspiration

I look for motivation in the blogs I read. I also identify with the struggles of those who write them. These are the top 12 blogs that I read and lurk on almost everyday. I hope you find some encouragement from them.

1. Ann Is Living Large No More. Ann has become a real confidant and inspiration. I consider her a friend.
2. I just started reading Mindful Martini Mouse. This is the story of a woman who is trying to lose weight while living on the road. She and her husband are long-haul truckers. Imagine the challenges of this lifestyle.
3. A Crazy Little Thing Called Life is truly inspiring. This young lady has already lost quite a bit of weight. But she is also looking for inspiration. Stop by and give her some encouragement.
4. SkinnyHollie. What a journey this lady has had. Health issues, a divorce, and being a single mom haven't stopped this lady from losing more than 60 pounds. Stop by to give her your support.
5. I really identify with Losing Weight After 45 Is a Bitch. Boy, do I ever know that. Lose the weight while you're young. It just gets harder the longer you wait.
6. I read The Heart Scan Blog because it reminds of why I need to lose weight. It also provides great information about heart disease.
7. Jacksh*t Gettin' Fit is just plain funny. What else can I say?
8. My Journey to Fit: A Forty-Somethings Weight Loss Journey inspires me. I know there's still hope.
9. I identify with 266. She's lost a lot weight and journals her struggles along the way. I hope she inspires you, too.
10. What is there to say about Paula Wanna Cracker? She continues to hang around my blog even though I haven't had much success in over a year. But her blog is great. Stop by to give it a read. I'm sure you'll find something to motivate you.
11. Katie J is on Her Way. I just love Katie. She's a warm, friendly woman who chronicles her successes and failures with equal depth.
12. The Bloggest Loser is one of the first weight loss blogs I started reading. I still read it. You can find recipes and inspiration here.
13. A Walk in the Park. Eeek. I almost forgot about Susan. Please forgive me, Susan. This lady has been there for me through a lot of stuff. She is having some concerns of her own right now. Stop by her blog to say hello and let her know you're there for her. Believe me, she'd do the same for you.

This only part of my reading list. I hope you find them as inspiring as I do. Enjoy!

I Predicted This

I got up this morning--eyes sore, nose stuffed up, throat scratchy--and looked outside. It's (the snow) still there plus some. So for right now at this moment in time, I'm not going out there. I have nothing pressing. I did all of that yesterday. And it's 12 miles from my house to work with the two miles from my house to main road being the most treacherous. If I can get out, I worry all day about, "How am I going to get back?"

I predicted in October (or maybe it was even earlier) that this would be a bad winter. My sinuses have the worst they've been in years. I think my sinuses may be as good or even better than a barometer.

A Kick in the Pants
As for diet and exercise, I still haven't been exercsing. But Journey Beyond Survival has agreed to help me out, supplying motivation, inspration, and a kick in the pants. Thank you for being there. I am hoping that the next few days bring a new attitude with them.

OK. That's it. I have a headache.

Too Moody to Write

I'm in a reflective mood today—I'm finding it hard to focus on anything.

This morning I did not go to the gym, but I did workout at home. Remember Power 90? I did a strength-training workout. It went OK. Yesterday, I seemed to have more motivation than I do today.

I'm sorry I don't have a lot to say. It's just one of those days.

Looking for Some Spark

On Wednesday night I have piano class. It makes for a very long day. So on Thursday, I feel like I didn't get much rest. And I got up and went to the gym.

I'm working hard to get back into a routine. I made it to the gym four times this week. I haven't gotten sick—knock on wood. But I am totally worn out today.

I have tow more personal training sessions coming up. One this coming Monday, and one the Monday after that. I'm hoping this sparks some new motivation.

I still don't have a lot to say. So. . . .

I Don't Work Error Free

A friend of mine said, "I don't work error free." And I add to that, "neither does anyone else."

I'm eager to get back to my routine. I love my pups more than anything, but I need something beyond four legs and a tail. The pups never disagree with me. They go along with anything I say. Thank goodness I have a friend who often says to me, "You know better than that." The gym awaits me.

When I watch the Biggest Loser, it is often disappointing to me. Not because of how tough the trainers are. Or how tough the diets are. I expect those things. It's the petty game playing. I couldn't live a bunch of people I would prefer to b@#*h slap than talk to. But people love a train wreck. I guess that's why the show is popular.

Next week, December 1, I'm getting serious again. I feel more ready now than I have in a while. I think I just truly needed a break. My body feels more healed. I'm still struggling with sinus things, but I'll be doing that for the rest of the winter. And I need the exercise. So do the dogs. Once I get going, they will, too.

Ok. I hear my dogs getting a little wild in the living room. So I'll be going for now. TTFN.

How Can I Stop Eating So Much?

I didn't post anything yesterday because I was too busy. Sorry.

I just read a letter I wrote to Al a while ago. It's still hard for me to believe that he's gone. In about five weeks, he will have been dead for three years. It feels like it all happened yesterday. It's all very vivid. And I still cry over him.

I've slowed way down at the gym, and I gotta tell ya. I'm feeling better—not so tired. My leg still hurts, but the stretching is helping.

The diet still sucks, and I think I've probably gained a few pounds—at least that's how it feels. I wish I could sit here and say that I've been eating right. But I can't. Last night, it was all I could do to keep from heating up some french fires that I bought for the girls over the weekend. I didn't do it. But I came very close. I don't know how to get my motivation back. I don't know what it will take.

Well, today promises to be another busy day.

Motivation and Inspiration

I'm finally back down to what I started from more than a month ago. Having my thyroid medication adjusted didn't do me any good. In fact I've read that even a minor change in TSH levels can have an effect on weight. So no more changes, please.

I've been struggling with what to write lately so I thought I would include some motivational quotes today:

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. —Jim Ryun

Eighty percent of success is showing up.—Woody Allen

Whatever 100 percent looks like, give it. —Lance Armstrong

We would accomplish more things if we did not think of them as impossible.—C. Malesherbes

No struggle, not progress. —Fredrick Douglas

Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off of the goal.—Unknown

I hope these help inspire you to meet great challenges.
